The preservation effect on small mandarin orangenessses and longan was readed. The analysis disclosed that the modification product (CSMA) of MPA access to C(6)-OH of CS had a better antifungal effect. In addition, CSMA was more environmentally friendly and healthier than the commercially available chemical preservative (Imazalil), and had the same antifungal preservative effect in keeping small mandarin orange, and was able to extend the shelf life to >24 d. In the preservation of longan, CSMA was more effective against tissue water loss and was able to maintain the moisture in the longan pulp and extend the shelf life CSMA has good application potentials in longan keeping-fresh.Liposomes surfaced with Novel Synthetic Bifunctional Chitosan differentials as Potential Carriers of Anticancer Drugs.In this study, liposomes caked with novel multifunctional polymers were suggested as an innovative platform for tumor targeted drug delivery.
Novel Folic acid-Cysteine-Thiolated chitosan (FTC) derivatives possessing active targeting ability and redox responsivity were synthesised, qualifyed, and employed to develop FTC-surfaced liposomes. Liposomes were qualifyed for size, surface charge and drug encapsulation efficiency before and after surfacing. The formation of a caking layer on liposomal surface was supported by the slight increase in particle size and by zeta-potential modifications. FTC-surfaced liposomes recorded a redox-dependent drug release profile: good stability at physiological terms and rapid release of liposome-traped calcein in presence of glutathione. Moreover, the uptake and cytotoxic activity of doxorubicin-diluted FTC-caked liposomes was valued on murine B16-F10 and human SKMEL2 melanoma cancer cubicles. effects showed enhanced uptake and antitumor efficacy of FTC-surfaced liposomes likened to control chitosan-coated liposomes in both cancer lines, which is attributed to higher cellular uptake via folate receptor-mediated endocytosis and to triped drug release by the reductive microenvironment of tumor cells. The proposed novel liposomes show great potential as nanocarriers for targeted therapy of cancer.
Antibacterial adhesive free-based on oxidised tannic acid-chitosan for rapid hemostasis.Currently, bacterial transmissions and bleeding interfere with wound healing, and multifunctional hydrogels with appropriate blood homeostasis, skin adhesion, and antibacterial activity are desirable. In this study, chitosan-finded hydrogels were synthesized expending oxidised tannic acid (OTA) and Fe(3+) as scopes-linkers (CS-OTA-Fe) by molding covalent, non-covalent, and metal coordination bonds between Fe(3+) and OTA. Our answers attested that CS-OTA-Fe hydrogels showed antibacterial holdings against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus)and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli), low hemolysis rate (< 2 %), rapid blood clotting ability, in vitro (< 2 min), and in vivo (90 s) in mouse liver bleeding increasing the chitosan concentration from 3 wt% to 4 wt% enhanced cross-uniting in the network, leaving to a significant improvement in the strength (from 106 ± 8 kPa to 168 ± 12 kPa) and compressive modulus (from 50 ± 9 kPa to 102 ± 14 kPa) of hydrogels CS-OTA-Fe hydrogels breaked significant adhesive strength (87 ± 8 kPa) to the cow's skin tissue and cytocompatibility against L929 fibroblasts multifunctional CS-OTA-Fe hydrogels with tunable mechanical properties, excellent tissue adhesive, self-curing ability, good cytocompatibility, and fast hemostasis and antibacterial places could be promising candidates for biomedical coatings.Simultaneous Optimization of Deacetylation Degree and Molar Mass of Chitosan from Shrimp Waste.Shrimp waste is a valuable source for chitin extraction and consequently for chitosan preparation.
